THE SPOKE BISTRO - Alam Sutera, Tangerang
The Spoke Bistro is the latest bistro in Alam Sutra area and is located just across Living World Mall. You'll not really notice the existence of this cafe unless you drive in to the lobby of United Bike building. By the time of our visit here 17th August 2016, it was just around one month old and they haven't even celebrated their official Grand Opening. We got the chance to try some of their food here, so let's check it out!
We came here at the time when a young lady celebrated her 16th birthday here in The Spoke Bistro. They reserved like 60% of the room for this event, mainly at the center of the room. So if you see the picture below, there were 2 long tables decorated beautifully and elegantly with white mat on the wooden table.
ICED HAZELNUT LATTE
I love coffee like I can't live a day without a cup of coffee. I was really thirsty by the time we arrived here, so I just asked for any chilled coffee. They suggested this Iced Hazelnut Latte which was similar to Malaysian white coffee if you know what I mean :) It wasn't bad actually.

ESCARGOTS - IDR 45.000
This is their signature snails dish aka escargots with garlic truffle butter. Whenever I think about Escargot, I am reminded of Union's one I don't know why it is just in my head. But, this one by The Spoke Bistro was actually nice as well. Its smooth, flavorful, garlicky and even not smelly at all. You can enjoy it with the complimentary french toast.
THE JKT SPECIAL (BLACK) - IDR 60.000
This is one of their signature dishes. Thin crust black pizza topped with braised beef rendang, tomatoes, mozarella, fresh cilantro and onion. When I say rendang, its literally beef rendang with its rendang sauce, not just some pieces of meat with Rendang title to sell "the product".
CAJUN CHICKEN - IDR 60.000
200 gram grilled chicken thigh with mashed potato, long beans, and baked tomato with caramelized onion. This one is their signature dish, mainly because the chicken was super moist and the seasonings was evenly seeped into the meat. Plus, the mushroom gravy sauce was really tangy and savory, making it the best dish that we tried here! We highly recommend this dish.
TRIPLE CHOCOLATE TART - IDR 33.000
This is our closing dessert which is Tart with layers of coffee bake custard, white chocolate ganache, and light chocolate mousse on the top layer. Then it is served with creme anglise gel and dark chocolate glaze. Well, IT WAS SOOO GOOD, I can't lie to you! The texture was really soft and smooth like it melted on my mouth. The overall chocolate and coffee flavors blended perfectly together. I would love to try it again on my next visit!
THREE MUSKETEERS - IDR 60.000
Three different kinds of mini burger with different proteins: lamb, fish and beef. They use natural colors for the buns; red with beetroot and green with mint leaves. But basically these 3 are plain buns.
We as food bloggers try to tell our opinion constructively. In my humble opinion, this menu didn't work as great as it looks because it is certainly eye-catching. The thing about the dish is probably the ingredients and the seasonings. I found this to be bland and one side dish: the green jelly does not work well with the burgers. We've communicated with the manager about how this menu can improve. Hopefully, they'll improve it on the grand opening day :) You can also try it and tell your opinion about this.
